| Which portable concentrator is right for me? We are asked this question a lot. The answer depends on your oxygen requirements and portability needs. To narrow the choices, we ask the following questions in return: |
|
| Can you use a pulse flow of oxygen? Will you use it during the day, or only occasionally at night? Do you have lower oxygen needs? Setting 1-4? Is compact size and light weight important? |
Do you need a continuous flow of oxygen? Will you be using it frequently while sleeping? Will you be connecting it to a CPAP or BiPAP machine? Do you require a high-capacity of oxygen? Setting 5 or 6? |
| If you answered YES to these questions, then the best unit for you would be a portable unit that is small and light weight for maximum portability. These units are pulse-flow only so are generally only used during the day; however, your doctor may approve nighttime use as well. | If you answered YES to these questions, then the best unit for you would be a portable unit that provides a continuous flow of oxygen for nighttime use, but still provides a pulse flow for daytime use and maximum battery time. For use with a CPAP or BiPAP machine, a continuous flow unit is a MUST. |
